Welcome to the Marshall County Children’s Policy Council website. The council was established by law and consists of agencies providing services to families and children in this county. The council has the duty to review the needs of children, to determine the responsibilities of county agencies addressing those needs, to identify areas of duplication and/or conflict between agencies, to identify local resources and develop a local resource guide for services, and keep the community and the Department of Children's Affairs informed of the needs of the families and children in our county. The council also reviews expenditures of the Children First funds and other grants for local children's services. Additionally, the council and its committees act as incubators for new ideas and approaches to children's services. Likewise, it seeks to meet as many local needs with local resources as possible. Our children are our future, and therefore, our greatest asset. If we continue to invest in that asset we will reap benefits beyond our wildest imagination. To learn more about the council and agencies who serve children, please visit the links included on this website. I encourage each of you to contact us with any comments or suggestions to improve this website or services for children.
Anyone interested in
children's services is always welcome to attend council and committee
meetings. Please join us as we work to invest in our most precious
asset-our children.
